​During the construction of the Railway Bridge over the Tsavo River in 1898 by the British for what was then known as the Ugandan Railway, approximately 140 workers were killed by two Maneless male lions, over a period of 3 months. It is from this history that the lodge derives its name.  The Man Eaters Lodge is located in a prime section of Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo West offers tremendous views with diverse habitats. Game includes: leopard, cheetah, buffalo, black rhino, elephant, giraffe and other mammals.
