Our Exclusive Lewa Marathon in Luxury! 

Embark on a journey of adventure and luxury with our exclusive Lewa Marathon experience, designed for discerning travelers seeking the ultimate safari adventure. Immerse yourself in the thrill of the marathon while indulging in unparalleled comfort and luxury accommodations amidst the stunning landscapes of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.
Day 1: Friday, the 28th of June 2024 – Departure for and stay at Nanyuki.

Your adventure begins on this day!  We will pick you up from a designated place in Nairobi at 10:00 am.  Our driver-guides will proceed on a scenic 4-hour drive to the Holiday House in Nanyuki, where you will be staying for three (3) nights.  You will arrive in Nanyuki in time to have lunch prepared by our private chef, after checking in at the house.  You will then have time to relax before the marathon the next day.
 
Overnight in Nanyuki – Meals as per the agreed upon menu included in the itinerary.


Day 2: Saturday, the 29th of June 2024 – Drive to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Participation in the Lewa Safari Marathon.


On this day, you will have an early breakfast, and the drivers will pick you up at 5:00 am and embark on an hour’s drive to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the venue of the Lewa Safari Marathon.  The drivers will remain at your service for the duration of the marathon in Lewa.  After the marathon, they will take you back to the Holiday House where you will enjoy lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

The Lewa Safari Marathon is one of the world’s most challenging and rewarding marathons.  Each year participants share the Lewa Conservancy with several large African predators including the big five.  Set on the conservancy’s dirt roads, the route takes runners across savannah plains, along riverbanks and through acacia woodland.  The Lewa Safari Marathon is not just a personal challenge.  This unique event has supported conservation projects across Kenya for over 25 years.  By taking part, you play a huge role in supporting local community development and wildlife conservation by raising awareness of the threats facing Africa’s incredible wildlife.

Overnight in Nanyuki – Meals as per the agreed upon menu included in the itinerary.

Day 3 Sunday, the 30th of June 2024 – Game Drive within Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

After breakfast on this day, our drivers will pick you up from the Holiday House for a 1½ hour’s drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where you will enjoy an exhilarating game drive and see the world’s last remaining Northern White Rhinos.  Ol Pejeta Conservancy is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.  

The chef will ensure that you have a pre-packed picnic basket with a wholesome and nutritious meal for your lunch.  After the game drives, you will be driven back to the house to spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to two of the world’s last remaining Northern White Rhinos.  It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.  Ol Pejeta has some of the highest predator densities in Kenya, and still manages a very successful livestock programme.  The conservancy also seeks to support the people living around its borders, to ensure wildlife conservation translates to better education, healthcare and infrastructure for the next generation guardians of wildlife.
 
Day 4: Monday, the 1st of July 2024 – Departure for Nairobi. 

Your adventure ends here.  After a leisurely and delicious breakfast, you will check out of the house by 11:00 am, and thereafter our drivers will proceed to drive you back to Nairobi.  In Nairobi, they will drop you off at a designated place, after which you will be able to proceed with personal engagements.
